Agate Tūna (ISSP Gallery)

Agate Tūna (LV, b. 1996) is a Riga-based multidisciplinary artist specialising in analogue and experimental photography. Her preferred techniques include film soups, chemigrams and photograms, as well as experiments with sound art. With her camera, Tūna plays the role of an investigator between reality and fiction, uncovering both intriguing strangeness and compelling evidence, stimulating discussion around the blurred boundary between these two domains.

Who Has Come Here? explores traces of the spiritual, the paranormal and the illusory in Latvian photographic history. Through analogue photography, Tūna uses her own body to explore the boundaries between magic and belief.

Meanwhile, the Techno-Spectre project prompts viewers to reflect on the haunting interplay between apparitions and technology, using experimental photographic techniques like chemigrams to delve into unseen dimensions.
