There is a Big River, in Which There is a Big Island, in Which There is a Lake, in Which There is an Island, in Which There is a Small House, Where a Life is Growing in a Womb

Ladocsi’s ongoing project focuses on the relationship between a person and their environment. Throughout, he strives to examine how we are connected in the same spaces, and how the actions and behaviour of an individual are informed by the collective. The connections we share are visible both literally and metaphorically in his work: symbolised by recurring depictions of water. Rivers and lakes each represent the water within all of us, whilst notions of introspection – and the discovery of our deepest essence – are seen throughout Ladocsi’s work.

Exploring the relationship between the human body and the natural environment, Ladocsi’s work observes how we all live in a place of connectedness, no matter how far we travel or how isolated we become. Whilst a particular connection might be unique, we all recognize what it looks and feels like. Through his work, Ladocsi wants to illuminate the intensity and resilience of the human spirit, captured in moments when we push our bodies and minds to reach our highest potential. Ultimately, his work is a celebration of life and the interconnectivity of our existence.
